I built a 240-foot dog ear picket fence from the ground up, starting by laying out the entire fence line and marking post locations to keep everything straight and evenly spaced. After measuring and setting my layout, I dug post holes at consistent intervals and set the posts in concrete, making sure each one was level, plumb, and aligned for a solid, long-lasting structure.
Once the posts were set and cured, I installed the horizontal rails, securing them tightly to create a strong framework for the pickets. With the structure in place, I began attaching the dog ear pickets one by one, keeping consistent spacing and checking alignment as I went to maintain a clean, uniform look across the full 240-foot run.
As the fence came together, I made sure all lines stayed straight and level, adjusting where needed to account for any changes in the ground. I finished by securing all fasteners, checking the entire fence for stability, and ensuring a smooth, professional appearance. The final result is a durable 240-foot dog ear picket fence that provides both privacy and a clean, classic look.
